I’m someone who loves to sleep, and I know I’m not alone. I used to be that person that would have her alarm set early to go workout and have a really productive day, only to snooze for at least two hours.. But now I love to wake up early! Wanna know how I do it?
Take it easy
So I’m not really a breakfast person. I tend to eat dinner pretty late, so usually I’m not hungry until late morning or early afternoon. What I do like is a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Something I do is grab myself a cup of whatever I want to drink and take it back to bed with me. I sit up straight in bed, enjoy my beverage and scroll through my social media while waking up.
Productivity is key
I’m way more productive in the morning than in the evening, so I try to get the most daunting tasks out of the way first. That huge article I have to write, the long list of bills I need to pay.. I know you read it everywhere, but make a to-do list! Seriously. If you’re not already doing this, how do you even deal with life? My favorite to-do list application is Wunderlist, because it syncs my iPhone and MacBook, but pen and paper works just as well.
If your work continues at home, make sure to schedule some downtime. This must be my favorite thing about waking up earlier: I have time to actually chill at night. I like to read blogs, browse YouTube or watch a movie. When I used to get up later in the day, I would continue to work after dinner because I just wasn’t finished yet. Now, I can use this time to wind down. It makes me feel like I’m not busy with work all the time.
Being a morning person makes you feel productive, good about yourself and it makes you get things done! It took me a while to get in the flow, and sometimes I still hate the sound of the alarm, but overall I’m happy how things are going. Here’s to productive mornings!
