How Cruel Is My Makeup Bag: Going Cruelty-Free In 2017

I have decided that I want to live a less cruel lifestyle in 2017 and be nicer to the creatures around me. That involves eating less meat (and eventually stop eating animal products all together) and not buying products that are tested on animals.

Today I’m finding out how cruel my makeup bag actually is, and the results are.. interesting to say the least.

I was inspired by Leena (she is amazing) to do this video, and I used this website to check if my makeup was cruelty-free or not.

In 2017, I want to work towards using up the products I own that are not cruelty-free, and replace them with better options.

If you have any recommendations as far as cruelty-free products, I would to hear about them :).

  1. It’s amazing how much stuff test on animals isn’t it?
I barely wear makeup any more. I do use mascara, and a little more now and then. I like elf. It’s inexpensive, and decent quality, whish is great for one who doesn’t wear makeup often.
Was wondering if you can caption your videos? I’m deaf, so I’ll never be able to watch them without captions. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
    Good luck on getting clean.

    • thank you for your comment! ELF is good, I didn’t know they were CF! Thank you for bringing the captioning to my attention, I never really thought of it (ashamed to admit that now) but I will definitely start captioning them in the future. Thanks again. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • I know ELF used to be CF, I hope they still are. ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for checking on captioning, I think it’s good for those watching when there’s others around too. Places where it’s hard to turn up the volume. Just a thought.
        Thanks a million.

      • No problem ๐Ÿ™‚ The next video I’ll make sure to add manual caption because I know the YouTube captions suck. Thanks again for stopping by, I appreciate it a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • I know manual captioning is hard. It’d be amazing if you did that. I’m used to the sucky captions, I’ve learned to figure most of it out, it’s kind of like lip reading, you have to get the context then you’re doing pretty good. You are very kind.

      • Meh, I tried manual captioning today but for some reason YouTube is acting up when I try to transcribe. It doesn’t line up and some words don’t get added in so I’ll have to figure out how to make it work soon. I did turn on the regular captions (I think!). I’m sorry the manual captioning didn’t work out today. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
